WHO IS GIMS?
Born Gandhi Djuna, GIMS was born on May 6, 1986, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He grew up in France and began shaping his artistic identity as a teenager. He first came to the public’s attention in 2008 as a member of the group Sexion d’Assaut, and in 2013 he launched an explosive solo career with *Subliminal*, his debut album, which immediately topped the French-language charts.
Twenty years into his career, the numbers are staggering: 8 million albums sold, 10 billion streams, 38 million fans worldwide, and the title of the most-streamed French-speaking singer in the world. As a songwriter, composer, producer, and performer, GIMS moves with rare ease from rap to pop to opera, collaborating internationally with artists as diverse as Sting, Sia, Maluma, Lil Wayne, Vianney, and soprano Nadine Sierra.
GIMS IN CONCERT AT THE ING ARENA: THE RECORD-BREAKING TOUR
2025 was another year of major achievements for GIMS. Named Best Male Artist at the Victoires de la Musique, he also broke the record for the longest-running No. 1 album—previously held by Johnny Hallyday—with 19 consecutive weeks at the top of the charts. This record speaks volumes about his ability to connect with a cross-generational audience and to maintain his relevance far beyond passing trends.
His latest tour, the “Last Winter Tour,” concluded with five concerts at the Paris La Défense Arena—Europe’s largest venue—and seven shows in Brussels. These figures demonstrate that his popularity remains strong, if not growing, after a two-decade career.
THE CARPE DIEM TOUR: A COMPLETELY REVAMPED SHOW
For this new tour, GIMS is back with a brand-new, spectacular show designed for the biggest venues. The Carpe Diem Tour showcases their timeless hits: "Sapés comme jamais", “La Même, ” “Bella”…as well as all the hits that have been topping the charts for months: “Parisienne”, Ninao, Spa feat. Theodora, and the unmissable “Ciel,” which has broken every streaming record this year. A setlist spanning a twenty-year career, presented in a stage production tailor-made for the ING Arena.
