I. Powers, organization, and operation of Brussels Expo
Brussels Expo's expertise
Brussels Expo's mission is to promote and develop a hub for meetings and exchanges with a view to promoting economic, commercial, industrial, scientific, cultural, and leisure activities, particularly through the territory and various buildings granted to it by the City of Brussels. To this end, Brussels Expo is required to carry out all useful or necessary activities, in particular all services directly or indirectly related to the organization of fairs and exhibitions, conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, concerts, festivals, and other events.
Its tasks therefore include managing property and providing services related to the exhibition halls, including Hall 12 (performance hall), the hall known as "La Madeleine," and the various events organized there.
More specifically, Brussels Expo is active in:
- Three business sectors: Trade Shows and Exhibitions, Entertainment, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions)
- 2 professions: Venue Management and Organization
- 4 venues: Brussels Exhibition Center (including Palais 12), La Madeleine
Organization and operation
To be a member of Brussels Expo, you must be a member of the Municipal Council of the City of Brussels and be appointed by it, or be specially authorized by the Municipal Council on the basis of a special competence that is decisive for its choice. The mayor of the City of Brussels is a full member of Brussels Expo.
Brussels Expo is administered by a board of directors, appointed by the general meeting from a list of candidates presented by the College of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Brussels or by the association's board of directors, for a renewable term of six years. The directors appointed on the recommendation of the College of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Brussels shall constitute the majority of the association's directors.
II. Grants
Brussels Expo did not award any grants in 2022.
III. Studies
No studies were conducted on behalf of Brussels Expo in 2022.
IV. Public procurement
Brussels Expo did not conclude any public contracts as a contracting authority in 2022.

Het doel van deze pagina is u de informatie te verstrekken die enerzijds wordt vermeld in artikel 6 van het gemeenschappelijk besluit en de gemeenschappelijke ordonnantie van 16 mei 2019 van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest, de Gemeenschappelijke Gemeenschapscommissie en de Franse Gemeenschapscommissie betreffende de openbaarheid van bestuur in de Brusselse instellingen(punten I tot V hieronder) en, anderzijds artikel 7 van de gemeenschappelijke ordonnantie van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest en de Gemeenschappelijke Gemeenschapscommissie van 14 december 2017 betreffende de transparantie van de bezoldigingen en voordelen van de Brusselse ambtenaren(punt VI hieronder).

I. Bevoegdheden, organisatie en werking van Brussels Expo
Bevoegdheden van Brussels Expo
De opdracht van Brussels Expo bestaat erin een centrum voor ontmoetingen en uitwisselingen te stimuleren en te ontwikkelen met het oog op de bevordering van economische, commerciële, industriële, wetenschappelijke, culturele en vrijetijdsactiviteiten, met name via het grondgebied en de verschillende gebouwen die de stad Brussel haar ter beschikking stelt. Te dien einde verricht Brussels Expo alle nuttige of noodzakelijke activiteiten, met name alle diensten die rechtstreeks of onrechtstreeks verband houden met de organisatie van beurzen, congressen, symposia, tentoonstellingen, concerten, festivals en andere evenementen.
Tot haar taken behoren dus het beheer van het onroerend goed en de dienstverlening in verband met de tentoonstellingshallen, waaronder hal 12 (showroom), de hal « La Madeleine » en de verschillende evenementen die er worden georganiseerd.
Meer concreet is Brussels Expo actief in :
- 3 sectoren: beurzen en tentoonstellingen, amusement en MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions).
- 2 beroepen: Venue Management en Organisatie
- 4 locaties: Brussel Tentoonstellingscentrum (inclusief Paleis 12), La Madeleine
Organisatie en werking
Om lid te kunnen zijn van Brussels Expo moet men lid zijn van de gemeenteraad van Brussel en door deze gemandateerd zijn of speciaal gemachtigd zijn door de gemeenteraad op basis van een bijzondere bevoegdheid die bepalend is voor zijn keuze. De burgemeester van de stad Brussel is volwaardig lid van Brussels Expo.
Brussels Expo wordt bestuurd door een Raad van Bestuur, die door de Algemene Vergadering wordt benoemd op basis van een lijst van kandidaten die door het College van Burgemeester en Schepenen van de Stad Brussel of door de Raad van Bestuur van de vereniging wordt voorgesteld, voor een hernieuwbare periode van zes jaar. De op voordracht van het college van burgemeester en schepenen van de stad Brussel benoemde bestuurders vormen de meerderheid van de bestuurders van de vereniging.
II. Subsidies
Brussels Expo heeft in 2022 geen subsidies verstrekt.
III. Studies
Er is geen studie verricht voor de Expo van Brussel in 2022.
IV. Overheidsopdrachten
Brussels Expo heeft als aanbestedende dienst in 2022 geen overheidsopdrachten gesloten.

Competences of Brussels Expo
Brussels Expo’s mission is to encourage and develop a centre for meetings and exchanges with a view to promoting economic, commercial, industrial, scientific, cultural and leisure activities, particularly throughout the territory and the various buildings granted to it by the City of Brussels. Its missions therefore include the management of the assets and the provision of services related to the Exhibition Halls, including Hall 12 (showroom), the hall known as « La Madeleine » and the various events organized there.

Brussels Expo is administered by a Board of Directors, appointed by the General Assembly from a list of candidates presented by the College of Mayors and Aldermen of the City of Brussels or by the Board of Directors of the association, and this for a renewable period of six years. The administrators nominated by the College of Mayors and Aldermen of the City of Brussels will constitute the majority of the administrators of the association.

Brussels Expo has not granted any subsidies in 2022.
III. Studies
No study has been carried out for Brussels Expo in 2022.
IV. Public Procurement
Brussels Expo did not conclude any public contracts as a contractor in 2022.
